You might be more of an Ethan Allen fan than I am, though his brothers were real terrors. Read that word in any way you want. :-\
One thing I forgot to mention: we are usually at the low end of the list of cases. Not this week, and maybe not next. People meant well, and they tried, but a church had 100+ Covid infections all at once, all from one person. As I understand the situation, 120 some-odd folks quarantined prior to bringing in a member from out of state, who was also quarantining.
Unfortunately, something went wrong, and the new arrival became sick shortly after attending services. Everybody quarantined, but a whole bunch of them tested positive. Give the folks credit, though: they owned it, apologized to the rest of the state, and have been cooperating fully with health officials. The outbreak has been contained, no new cases, and only the original case was hospitalized. I don't know the outcome, but we did have one death that week. If the folks in the church had not been so responsible, it could have gotten truly bad.
I'm really sorry it went wrong, but very glad they handled it the way they did. Sure bent our numbers, though! From one end of the list to the other. Our numbers are looking better, and man, are people being careful! An object lesson has that affect.
And no, I don't think pop densities are a major factor. Our density is actually similar to (or higher than) many larger states. I think it is because from the beginning Vermonters observed the rules, and watch out for each other.
I get my first shot on 8 Feb. I've got enough food to easily last until spring, but I am nearly out of TP! I stock up on stuff in the fall- old snow country dweller's habit. This was long before Covid, and I just got a half box of rolls as usual. Well, being home so much meant higher usage of TP. I don't do morning, so maybe a very late trip to the store....
