That's one of the things I enjoyed living in the NW: many Spanish speakers. I also still have some French, but the French spoken here is very different from the French I learned, which was largely Nicean in flavor. So not much good for practicing conversation. My son-in-law does a better: his first language was Canadian French, as he grew up with French speaking grandparents until he was about 6. I can understand very little of it, but at least can read the signs!
