I heard Brian Molko talking about a song he loved on 6music yesterday. It was a David Gray song. He explained that David, in the lyrics, managed to devastate him entirely with as few words possible. This is, of course, a notable skill in fiction writing. Hemingway springs immediately to mind, then Edna O Brien, and Claire Keegan as well. What writers do this for you?
