Exactly. And the result might be peace and quiet in DC while Trump is president. He's neither federalizing the MP nor pushing to get rid of it. If future Presidents see a problem it's for them to solve. As a former resident and frequent visitor, I'd hope another result might be that Congress and voters understand the nonsense of "DC Statehood."
