Just a comment about the " over 3,000 ATACMS missiles" the US may have. What is an ATACMS? It is a ground fired surface to surface missile launched off HIMARS or MARS2 TELs. The warhead has a mass of about 110kg, about 50% more than a rocket assisted guided artillery shell off standard 152mm howitzers, and bit more than half of the mass of guided shells fired off Pion/Tjulpan mortars, or Malka howitzers. All of the above have, unless intercepted, high accuracy, the difference is in range: 9.5-19km for the Tjulpan, 30-50km for the Malka, 15-40km for standard Krasnopol shells.
The damage done by ATACMS is that of an artillery shell, with different kinds of ammunition, obviously mainly cluster ammunition with HE-frag CBUs.
Certainly a nasty thing, but on the frontlines, 3000+ grenades of similar or comparable power and effect are fired everyday even by Ukraine, not to mention Russia. Even if all of them would be fired on Kaliningrad or Leningrad oblast, I doubt that the damage would be significantly more than the effects of Khokhols' terror bombings on Donezk, Lugansk, and Gorlowka.
So far, the interception rate looks like 90+%, and is still rising with Russian AD learning and adapting.
In a way, I consider Western cruise missiles a more severe threat, albeit already mastered to some extent. Those weapons are harder to trace, and carry more than 4 times more warhead payload. Still, that arsenal is limited, too, and the West prolly reluctant to further denude itself in the preparation of an aggression against China.
