Ha ha ha…re the spinning top analogy….the long time friend I was talking to once asked me how I thought up the things I said….all I could reply is that they just fall outta my mouth! TFFG’s election is like some kind of space-time anomaly & nearly inconceivable. A few years back I came across this interview w/ Greg O’Lear and a staffer on the Apprentice (never watched it, never wanted to), Neal Caster; here is a link to the first interview and all the ick-factor it describes: gregolear.substack.com/…. I, too, was gobsmacked when he was elected (w/ Reagan I was merely severely disappointed).
Yeah, I live in Humboldt County & Eureka, to my south about 25 miles, is the county seat….I’m to the north/east along Hwy 299 in a wee town of about 1200, Blue Lake (a river, no lake, long story)—it’s about 10-15 miles east of the coast, so gets much more summer sun due to the foothills holding the fogbanks back, and a tad cooler winters, but the coastal proximity keeps the weather pretty stable & the fog/mists (so far) keep the fire danger down on our forested hills. Humboldt County has (now called) Cal Poly Humboldt, the farthest northern campus of the CA State College system; I worked there on staff for 40: yrs (a real right-livelihood) before I retired & was a student there too back when it was known as Humboldt State College, then Humboldt State Univ. Here’s some Humboldt info: visithumboldt.com (note that Blue Lake is so small it gets no mention in the info (just realized that and sent them a suggestion just now to add us!!!). The climate here is pretty temperate, not too hot or cold…to the inland east, however, in the mountains, severe forest fires can rage & have done so most of the summer.
Hahaha..deleting emails is such a chore, but satisfying!
