There was popular support for a violent coup that overthrew a democratically elected legitimate president and replaced him with a Nazi regime.

That coup was cooked up in Washington DC. A lot of color revolutions have popular support. A lot of violent coups have popular support. So what?

The best we can tell is that the people were divided 50-50 for that president. So half the country decided to overthrow the president. It was cooked up in the US as punishment for the president deciding in a much better deal from Russia than he was offered from the EU.

So the US hatched a murderous plot overthrow the government in which the Maidan people murdered 100 people including cops and their own protestors. The snipers were Georgians and Lithuanians trained at a NATO base in Poland.

After that a Nazi government was installed that immediately began murdering the opposition! The main opposition party with support of half the population was banned and they tried to murder the leader.

They declared war on ethnic Russians, who rose up in arms against the new government. The rest is history.
