Substack Launch: Let's do this!

Hey guys. Sorry if you got a notification I had a video up. I opened a blaster of illusions and I somehow recorded it in slow motion making an 8 minute video 49 mins. I feel dumb. I’ll post β€œmy hits” as soon as my daughter wraps up her basketball season. They are currently 0-7. Will they win the final game? I’m taking action on the game now. I’ll have a pod up later for my payers.

Substack is the only platform not currently owned by a billionaire, and I have full editorial control over my content.

It’s why I’m here. Thank you all for joining me.

Let’s redefine the future of media in America, together.

The problem with Social Security isn't "fraud."

The problem with Social Security is that as the rich have gotten richer, more of their income has escaped the cap on the SS payroll tax.

In fact, millionaires stop paying SS taxes today.

We can fix this by scrapping the cap.

This is the craziest thing I have ever written. Many indicators are coming in that Trump fully intends to invade Greenland and Canada. β€œAnnex” is just a nice word for killing Canadians/Greenlanders and seizing land we do not own for Elon Musk’s technologist dictatorship. It would cause the Armed Forces to mutiny and Civil War in America to start. Take this talk seriously. Read this assessment.

URGENT WARNING: Trump is Planning to Invade Canada & Greenland

For the rest of my life, I will never understand how a country full of people busting their asses, working paycheck to paycheck, allow the fucking richest guy on Earth to call them "parasites" while calling the Social Security we contributed to our entire lives "a Ponzi scheme."

Un-fucking-real.

The president likes his name on stuff. Wouldn’t it be fun to name all of his accomplishment:

Trump Recession

Trump Unemployment

Trump Measles Outbreak – each death – another Trump Measles Death

Trump Retaliatory Tariffs

Trump Government Shutdown

A reminder: Vladimir Putin could end the war in Ukraine right now, just by ordering his soldiers to go home. No need for treaties or negotiations.

Zelenskyy is one of the greatest leader of our time.

Trump is the opposite. He is a sex predator, a felon, grifter, conman, traitor, crime boss, …

People around the world know it well.

Norway has just decided to increase its support to Ukraine for 2025 from 35 to 85 billion Norwegian kroner ($7,81 billion). Compared to the size of the population, the Norwegian aid equals $483 billion from the USA.

Tusen takk, Norge!

I noticed this at the start of the pandemic; all the economics guys I know quickly realised "we're not so different, you and me"

Here’s another photo from the Great Ohio River Flood of 1937, featured in this week’s Project 3.18 story.

This one, I assume taken from a plane (a blimp?), gives a sense of scale to the flooding in Cincinnati. I can’t tell if this is from the East End or the West End, but the Ohio is in the upper right with the bridges.

I’ve got a few pictures from the 1937 Ohio River Flood that didn’t make it into this week’s story, but they’re perfect for a Note.

First up, a view from the dry part of the Crosley Field grandstand at the peak of the flooding in Cincinnati. Crosley was in many ways a cousin to its contemporary, Wrigley Field, and this shot reminds me very much of Wrigley, except, you know, the underwater part.
