Traditional copywriting is going to get killed in the next year. This is work for creative manager types, and substack type writers with creative conceits would actually be really good at it if they weren’t too snobby to delegate the words. Typically, I find that wordsmith-craft type people with airs, who want to be writing great novels and poetry, suck at really solid functional writing because they think it is both beneath them and radically underestimate the challenge of it (since they typically don’t know enough about industry/sectors domains to even appreciate the intellectual depths available, and don’t care to learn). BUT, for those of you willing to do it, say by learning about a couple of high-economic-value domains in truly deep nerdy detail (AI can help teach you that too), the world is your oyster.

AI is great at writing, and even good at the entire pyramid of execution agency — except for the very tip of agency which is actually making creative decisions about what’s worth writing at all and why, and what to prioritize/emphasize for a given purpose. This is almost the essence of writing.
