Mitch Berbrier: I see from an online bio that you're not only a sociologist but a scholar in subfields that have been largely colonized by the worldview we're talking about. If I just had that information and what you say about your perspectives above, I'd say you're right: they're coming for you. It's really a shame that people like us--I'm also older but not quite to retirement age--have to start considering retirement as a way to avoid being hounded out of the academy. On the plus side, I suspect you'll appreciate not ever having students ask, in a vaguely menacing tone of voice, "what did you mean by ____?"
