Cognitive dissonance indeed. It appears that no matter how many studies, how many reports, how many first hand accounts of tragedy, the minds of those incapable of forming their own opinions, their own thoughts, will forever be influenced by the narrative. They’ve no desire to educate themselves. They’ve no desire to read, process, & form logical opinions especially if given information is not comprised of welcome information. It appears that they will go to extreme lengths to protect their minds from truth. They will sacrifice their own children in order to maintain a narrative they have chosen not to destroy in the name of righteousness. The KGB ran an experiment many years back, prior to a time when the words “misinformation” were coined. During this experiment they supplied a group of people with false information about varying topics. This experiment didn’t last very long. The second half of the experiment entailed the same participants being given true information. After no more time than that of a few months, of being told “misinformation” these participants were either unwilling or incapable of believing the truth. They chose to continue believing the false information that had been fed to them during the initial phases of this experiment. I’m left to wonder why some of us are capable of expanding our minds whilst our peers are stuck in an eternal process of mind control. Ignorance is truly bliss for those who choose not to accept reality.
