How to Fix Your Overthinking.

(Navy SEAL Principles)

When faced with a choice, most engineers:

- Gather endless data.

- Debate every possibility.

- Wait for the perfect plan.

The problem? That plan doesn’t exist.

This is called analysis paralysis. And it’s deadly.

The fix? Navy SEALs call this MVP.

Minimally Viable Plan.

- Will it get the job done?

- Are the risks acceptable?

- Can we execute?

If yes, move forward.

In most cases, momentum beats perfection.

Taking action gives you:

- New data you wouldn’t have had.

- A better perspective on the problem.

- Faster results than waiting.

Great engineers don’t obsess over flawless plans.

They act, learn, and adapt.

Stop overthinking. Build the MVP. Execute.

That’s how you win.

I was a civilian working in an Air Force squadron and had a Major once tell me that one you pull the pin in the grenade the most important thing is that you don’t hold on to it.

And this problem applies to all matters in life!

Ah, that's where the concept comes from .. makes sense

progress > perfect, right?

Is your 'Rockstar' developer ruining your team dynamic?

We’ve all worked with one. Maybe we’ve even been one.

They’re brilliant, fast, and relentless. But there’s one big problem...

They think everyone should work like them. And if you don’t? You’re just “not a good developer.”

This mindset creates a sink-or-swim environment where:

1. If you can keep up, great, you’re “one of the good ones.”
