hello everyone I am still recuperating from a brain injury and hope to be back writing by the end of the month. meanwhile i have been staying at my parents’ house in the longleaf pine stands of North Carolina cosplaying as Siegfried dallying in the forest surrounded by the sounds of birds. (Though I like to think I’m nicer to my parents than he is.)
Israel and the Palestinians: The Road to 7th October, whose bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episo… airs this Monday, is such a travesty, so discredited by the very historical events it promises to explain, that it earns a glowing, five-star review from the Guardian.

The problem with Social Security isn't "fraud."
The problem with Social Security is that as the rich have gotten richer, more of their income has escaped the cap on the SS payroll tax.
In fact, millionaires stop paying SS taxes today.
We can fix this by scrapping the cap.
Imagine reading Exodus and siding with Pharaoh. Imagine reading the Christmas story and thinking King Herod was the good guy. Imagine watching the crucifixion and thinking Pilate was right. Imagine reading Revelation and believing Rome is on God’s side. Because in almost every way, this is how white evangelicals understand reality.

It’s time for countries, especially its former allies, to form an alliance to make the US feel the consequences of its actions and to break their dependence on US tech once and for all.

1) Don't spread disinformation about vaccines
2) Don't shut down infectious disease research
3) Don't pause communications from federal health agencies for over a week
4) Don't shut down Medicaid payment portals
5) Don't shut down health disparities research
6) Don't sever ties from the World Health Organization

Don’t limit women’s reproductive health.
Lower drug prices.
Provide full universal healthcare.
Provide access to high quality mental health services for all.
Provide insurance coverage for hearing aids.

8) Do listen to the 100,000s of PhDs and MDs in this country
9) Don’t forget that the United States is a global scientific powerhouse
10) Don’t kneecap scientific talent and exceptionalism in favor of fraud
11) Don’t forget that a population’s health is directly tied to economic success
Do not legislate reproductive healthcare (or any healthcare). Medical care should be between a patient and their doctor(s).
