I would agree that using combat troops usually is a bad idea, as

I watch the News and the camera shoots these troops are Military Police MPs. They are trained in law enforcement just like your local cops. Many were law enforcement before entering the military or are National Guard. So it looks to me like they are using military personnel very much qualified to do this job
