Well said. As a former mental health professional, I find it odd how popular it is to espouse an essentialist ND/NT binary, despite talk of the dimensional nature of diagnoses and the limitations of the DSM. ADHD means “in the bottom 10% of the population on executive functioning,” not “a person with a categorically different type of brain.” There’s no objective red line between ADHD and neurotypical, so it stands to reason that the same executive functioning strategies are likely to benefit both people with the diagnosis and people without it.
