Make money doing the work you believe in

GOODBYE Coursera. GOODBYE Udemy. GOODBYE EXPENSIVE Pluralsight subscriptions.

NotebookLM and Gemini just killed the $200B online learning industry.

Find a YouTube playlist or video on what you want to learn.

Open NotebookLM. Paste the YouTube link as a source. Name the notebook.

Open Gemini. Click the + button. Add your NotebookLM as a source.

Drop this in:

Develop an app from the attached notebook that teaches me {topic}.

Use Canvas as the tool.

The app should let me ask questions, get explanations in plain language, and quiz me at the end.

Gemini reads the notebook. Builds the app on Canvas. You use it in your browser.

That's the basic version.

What I used it for

I wanted to learn prompt engineering from Anthropic's official course.

The whole course is on YouTube. Free. Five hours.

I didn't want to watch five hours and forget half of it.

So I turned it into an app.

NotebookLM ate the videos. Gemini built me a Prompt Advisor that takes my draft prompts and rewrites them using the techniques from the course.

Then I did the same with Stanford's machine learning playlist. Built an AI Teacher with flashcards, quizzes, and infographics for each chapter.

Both apps. Under 10 minutes each.

Results

  • Basic learning app built in 10 minutes from one YouTube link

  • Full version (Prompt Advisor with a Test button + AI Teacher with flashcards, quizzes, infographics) took 20 minutes total

  • Apps are shareable with one link, no signup, no install

Coursera Plus runs $399/year and the videos still sit there waiting for you to watch them.

Udemy charges $20-200 per course and forgets you the moment you close the tab.

Pluralsight Premium costs $449/year and locks the labs behind a higher tier.

NotebookLM and Gemini are free. The app teaches you back.
