It is hard to say children have no real economic value - although I suppose you mean no real immediate economic value - but it is must be evident that they have long term economic value - no people no economy

I think this is what the author means by paradox of capitalism , it requires people, but can not produce them, or rather it only produces people who can not understand the reason to have children...same thing, no?
