BREAKING: It is absolutely humiliating that we have to rely on the Scottish Parliament to do the basic financial vetting that our own Congress refuses to touch.

For years, financial watchdogs have been sounding the alarm about Trump's golf resorts in Turnberry and Aberdeenshire. He somehow managed to drop hundreds of millions of dollars in cold, hard cash to buy and renovate these properties at the exact same time his American businesses were drowning in debt and major banks were refusing to lend to him. Where did that massive influx of unexplained cash actually come from?

If any Democrat had mysterious offshore funding like this, House Republicans would have held fifty televised hearings by now. Instead, the GOP has spent years actively shielding his financial records and blocking every investigation into his overseas bank accounts. They are perfectly fine protecting a man with dangerous foreign financial entanglements as long as he keeps delivering for their billionaire donors.

Thankfully, Scottish lawmakers are finally stepping up. Trump has spent his entire political career forcing American authorities to look the other way, but he is about to find out that his MAGA privilege does not cross the Atlantic.
