No, it didn't take just 1 term, or 2 years of 1 term. This stage has been set since before the Declaration of Independence was signed, and the pieces put into place slowly over time. The biggest & most egregious parts came during Bush Sr, Bush Jr, Clinton Cash, and Obummer's reigns. Although, in retrospect, Reagan signing the 1986 vaccine manufacturer's immunity act was pretty damned unforgivable. But, this has been a slow-moving train from the beginning.
