Whatever, dude. I have been there. It was my takeaway. And this has been true of every army in recent history. From Wellington's victorious one at Waterloo to the Russian one that is currently winning in Ukraine. The people in service are mostly not the best and brightest. Some are, but that some is a small sliver. The rest are a mix of ex-convicts (PTI is a huge source of US recruits...) and dead-enders who don't have much opportunity elsewhere.
