Your comment smells of little more than partisan whining. Looked at through this timeline, think what you will of the methods, but they appear to have already yielded results that are beneficial to US security and regional trade interests. I wish it were otherwise but my wishes, nor anyone’s else’s, do not matter: politics and geopolitics is often a Machiavellian game.
You say that the current administration is out of its depth. However it is a slew of previous administrations that have let our palpable interest in the Panama Canal backslide to the extent that Panama joined Chinas belt and road initiative.
