What has happened to white high-school boys is a bifurcation. The ones with parents who understand what leads to success, are secretly white, they secretly work hard, secretly get to school on time, secretly prepare assiduously for their SATs, and secretly get high grades. They still want to get into the best colleges because they understand this too shall pass, and if they are gulled into believing the anti-racist self flagellation they will simply be left behind. So they "pass," which is interesting because this is an inversion of years past when Blacks who "passed" as white had a greater chance of success. Then of course there are the white boys who actually buy the self flagellation model and they miss out on college, self esteem, and fall into despair. White Girls on the other hand seem able to succeed only if they both self flagellate and only succeed in moderation. The opening is for the non-black, non-white students though. We all expect the Indian or the Chinese kids to work hard, get good SAT scores, because they are simply not required to self-flagellate in order to escape the opprobrium of whiteness. White boys who "pass" will pass but those who do not will end up on the streets of Philadelphia dying of fentanyl. And what is saddest of all is none of this will help Black boys get into college in the least. And in the end we all secretly only really hire the most competent heart surgeons and most competent lawyers. So finally, this is all just a wretched dance, since the whites boys who are secretly white still win most of all.
