As I work on Stack the Week I was reading back through the coverage during the week. At the end of a Washington Post piece on the war powers vote in the House, there is a quote from Senate Republican leader John Thune:

“Our members are— and rightly so— asking the right questions and trying to figure out the strategy going forward.”

The quote was in the penultimate paragraph. You could have been forgiven for missing it. In the blur of the day it might have felt pretty anodyne. But…

…even the president’s allies in the Senate don’t know what the strategy is in Iran.
