Sorry, james. 45 years ago “Christian” right-wingers knew they were losing elections and losing the culture wars. So they set out to form the Federalist Society and take over the courts. They masked their theocratic aims behind the guise of “Originalism”, which is legal mumbo jumbo. If you read those links I posted above on Leonard Leo you’ll see their real goal is forcing their religious agenda on the country. And in the past few years we’ve begun to see them achieving those goals. This mifepristone ban, and the overturning of Roe, were clearly religious decisions. The good news is that they can only install these right-wing “Christian” judges if they control the White House and the Senate.
