Fern Farting is a vulgar offshoot of the British phrase “I wouldn’t give a farthing for…” After the British misadventure in Lexington in 1775, the response was historically misquoted: “The shot [fart] heard around the world.’

In Roman times, long before recognition of the glorious fart, the good people of Rome used a vomitorium to relieve themselves during gargantuan meals. Personally I am thankful that the slow but deadly fart has replaced vomitoriums.
