I loved this too - brilliant discussion, especially hearing how different interpretations of the state of nature impact how we build and perceive our institutions. Hobbes was writing during the English Civil War so I've always wondered what he would have thought about the state of nature had he lived in a different, more peaceful time.
I was vaguely aware of the controversy around the Stanford prison experiment but hadn't heard the full shocking truth - it was fascinating to hear the story and its unintentional impacts on discussions around prison reform.
Sounds like Bergman's book is just as good as the discussion, will have to order that too...
