You know, that's kind of funny. I always associate him with Ann Arbor. That's where he built his computer company Gateway. He launched his campaign out of the most liberal city in Michigan. He was basically a social liberal, but a fiscal conservative. Having built a very successful business from scratch, and sold it for billions, he thought he could build Michigan into some sort of fiscal juggernaut, using the same business model. Flint happened because he wanted every penny accounted for and used for cutting costs overall. He completely missed the service part of governmental responsibility.
