Interesting to see the inclusion of factor Xa in this non-replicating virus! Why was it put there? For Ad5, factor X was thought to promote infection of epithelial cells, by bridging Ad5 hexon hyper variable region to heparan-sulfate moieties at the cell surface, but this region is not conserved in Ad26! Factor Xa is the active form of factor X, and is a key enzyme in promoting coagulation. It seems so irresponsible to include factor Xa in this vector, and we know thrombosis is involved in a number of vaccine-induced adverse events. Madness!
