They absorb, observe, and question. Like a sponge, they take in what surrounds them, but not blindly.
They filter. They keep what deepens understanding and let go of what only feeds appearance.
Learning isn’t about looking knowledgeable, and reality has a harsh way of testing what is truly knowledge and what is fake. That requires humility. It requires remaining open enough to realize how much more there is to understand.
The ego wants to arrive quickly, to feel advanced, and to be seen as capable. But the deeper the student becomes, the less interested they are in protecting an image. They become more self-critical, not in a destructive way, but in an honest one.
