And btw, it is not my "belief" that nearly all important people in a town were KKK in the 1920s in Indiana. The book gives names and numbers. It is an excellent read and I recommend it to everyone whether they are from Indiana or not because the KKK was active in the 1920s in other places including Oregon. The prejudices we are seeing full bore now are direct descendants of that culture at that time and of course, before. The book on poverty that I am reading right now also addresses why POC, for example, often get stuck in poverty.
