Yes, and one of the solutions would be for the wealthy to pay the taxes that they owe. During the pandemic, there was a child policy which eliminated poverty for lots of kids. We should have kept that and we should reintroduce it. I blame Reagan for getting some of this underway....undermining help with housing and mental health for two. We are now reaping the results of that. And I am tired of hedge funds buying houses and individuals flipping houses. To me houses (including apartments) are to make a home for people. Housing too is part of generational wealth that has been denied to those in poverty. I read a lot of history and I don't see much difference throughout the ages in the behavior of the wealthy. I just finished an excellent book on the last years of Alexander the Great. He had complex motives, but he also managed to accumulate lots of treasure. It allowed him to be generous to those he favored or needed to influence.
