If President Biden is ill and has to drop out of the race that's one thing but dumping him because of his public appearances is dangerous. Rallies and televised interviews are immaterial. Remember that he beat Trump from "his basement" (as Trump ruefully calls it).

The chaos that would ensue if he were to drop out of the race is unimaginable. Take of the worst internecine war you can think of and know that it would be a playground spat in comparison (minus the blood, of course). Already people have gone to their corners and made the next several weeks an unnecessary distraction from the job at hand: keeping the keys to the White House out of the hands of CFDT and the Christofascists behind Project 2025.
