I'm Gen-X, right of center, from the San Francisco area, and have been shocked that some of my friends who were far more liberal than me, who really believed in questioning authority in the 70s and 80s, are now pushing totalitarian ideology and calling it democracy. Between censorship and pushing medical treatments on people and shouting "racist!" at the top of their lungs when there's a disagreement about policy, it's really disconcerting. I have friends of all political and religious (I'm Catholic and my best friend of 25+ years is an atheist) and ethnic stripes ... and it's only my white leftist friends who unfriended me during the last 2+ years as I advocated to keep schools open and not shut down business.
