The fundamental problem with progressivism — and I say this as someone who was a leftist for my entire life, until maybe five years ago—is that progressives want there to be a different reality than the one that is, and become angered when confronted with reality, and blame whoever is presenting that reality to them for being the perpetrator of whatever unpleasant or imperfect reality presented.
The conventional wisdom not so long ago was that Trump was either doomed to irrelevance or prison. Now, he's a world-historical figure, ushering in a new era of populist nationalism. The irony is that he wouldn't be playing that role had Democrats not tried to put him in prison.

I've been getting lots of messages from Syrians begging me to tell the world what's going on right now.
They want to stay anonymous out of fear of being killed by the government.
They've told me that women, children and the elderly have been slaughtered.
Fathers have been murdered in front of their children.
And they say that the islamist government is trying to cover it up.
Christians and other minorities are being massacred in Syria and the mainstream media is silent.

I keep reading stories and articles online that state that the United States of America has
voted against Ukraine and for Russia and China and a few other dictatorships. We did??
Not me! Probably not you! But, since the evil personage now attempting to speak for all of
us has loudly proclaimed that we are now aligned with Russia, this is perceived as the United
States doing this. Are we united in this vote? I think not. There’s a large number of US
voters who did not vote for this miscreant at all. There’s a large number of those who did,
who are now regretting their thinking that he would ever make anything great again. And
there’s a large number of you out there who decided not to vote at all. You can’t make
something great again if it is and always has been great to begin with. What you can do, by
doing the evil things he’s been doing, is to make the United States of America less than
great, in the eyes of our allies, worldwide.
We have now become a tyrannical ogre, thanks to
the evil one, threatening everyone who gets in his way with tariffs, firings, and even war.
Is this what you thought he would do? Is this even close to what you wanted in a leader? I
remember, during his first attempt at being our leader, when he returned from a visit with his
close friend, Kim Jung Un, when he remarked, “Kim Jung Un speaks, and his people sit up
in attention. I want my people to do the same thing.” He may have tried explaining that
statement away by saying he was just kidding, but was he? I think not.
He also made a statement during his last days of campaigning in 2024, saying “You’ll never
have to vote again.” You do know what that means, don’t you? It means that he intends to
become a permanent dictator and to take away your right to vote. Why are you not listening
to what he’s really saying? There’s no hidden meanings. He actually states precisely what
he wants and you failed to listen.

But the true believes are the minority of trump voters. Most of his supporters are appalled by the destruction he’s caused and by his endorsement of Putin.
