Substack Launch: Let's do this!

Hey guys. Sorry if you got a notification I had a video up. I opened a blaster of illusions and I somehow recorded it in slow motion making an 8 minute video 49 mins. I feel dumb. I’ll post “my hits” as soon as my daughter wraps up her basketball season. They are currently 0-7. Will they win the final game? I’m taking action on the game now. I’ll have a pod up later for my payers.

Substack is the only platform not currently owned by a billionaire, and I have full editorial control over my content.

It’s why I’m here. Thank you all for joining me.

Let’s redefine the future of media in America, together.

I'm sorry, but I'll be the one to say it: JASMINE CROCKETT needs to be Speaker of the House. I'm done with these Democrats giving the same nonchalant answers. We are losing our democracy. We need leaders who arent SCARED! Like if you agree with me.

Regardless of RFK Jr being confirmed as HHS secretary, I will continue to provide evidence based health education on social media. We need more helpers now more than ever.

I think a blog-based social media ecosystem is better than a tweet-based one.

People are generally more rational in longform. And the worst actors don’t have the patience for it.

Which is why notes are terrible

Agreed, but the fact that you’re tweeting this from Substack (and I’m engaging) suggests to me that we’re both corrupting this ecosystem.

I think a little tweeting is okay.

They are complements

Sorry I don’t see the benefits of the twitter one, other than for jokes.

maybe, just maybe, we can normalize context again

Agree. I’m finding scrolling through substack great right now.

It feels more earnest. I struggle to take myself seriously on X/Twitter—the vibe is much more ironic.

man people are so bullish on substack… on substack

(I am too)

Agree which is I’m appreciating Substack way more than Bluesky or even pre-Musk twitter. Just wished it would list stuff more chronologically

I just learned that half of U.S. adults can’t read a book written at the 8th-grade level (13 y/o). It makes sense why there are so many misunderstandings online. People aren’t able to understand inferences, sarcasm, or nuance. Some people genuinely can’t process complex ideas. Damn. Can we Make Reading Great Again?
