I see what you are saying and you are not wrong. But then I'm not so sure your point is very relevant. Part of the trouble is that at least half of Americans--when assessing Trump on your suggested metrics of integrity--fail to see how the opponents are the slightest bit better. I don't mean to roll out what about-ism but honestly I don't think you are being totally responsible by writing this article without seriously unpacking this question. I think what the 50% sees in Trumps opponents are people who score just as low or probably even lower on your very metrics, but who are far more sophisticated at covering it up. (When considering Biden's responses to the Afghanistan pullout it's hard not to sympathize with this stance.) I must emphasize that this observation does not in any way reflect my own preferences, but I stand by my point.
