There again, the word “liberal” in liberal democracy refers to its being available to all — widely dispersed, not narrowly applied. It goes to the root meaning of the word “liberal” and not the political stance.

The fact is, we fear they want to tear down the very foundations — and the expansions to women and minorities, and all the rest of the improvements we’ve tried to make over the centuries — of our Democracy, not just beat the Democrats.
