I did’t say a two-parent family wasn’t a boon, Anne — MY POINT was that marriage is not the measure of a two-parent family.
AND, a FAMILY — broader and wider than just two people — is also a great benefit.
The statistics about children born to a married couple was what I was primarily challenging…
But, I also submit that it is simplistic to just claim a two-parent family is shownto provide a better outcome.
STATISTICALLY, two parent families do that. Any par;ticular family needs to be judged on its own merits. Some single parent families are WAY better than other two parent ones. Some two parent families SUCK.
So, I’m a bit reluctant to let statistics alone drive my values.
