Well no. I didn't miss the news, nor am I unaware that there are extremists within every group. Didn't we have some of those operating Abu Ghraib and other such sites, doing things that horrified average Americans when they were exposed?

Again it comes down to whether the response should be to punish the actual perpetrators or collectively punish everyone who can be even remotely tied to them in terms of ethnicity, nationality, religion and so forth. The latter is obviously the easier/lazier choice, just not the moral or ethical one. Not to mention that it just further fuels existing tensions when we should be doing everything possible to dampen them if we don't want to risk the whole world going up in flames.

So I have no problem with the individual perpetrators on *both* sides being identified and punished for violations of human rights violations under international law. It's a pity that the ICC has become a tool of the West and lacks credibility in the eyes of the rest of the world as this would seem to be the proper forum for such adjudication otherwise.
