Well... ok. It's difficult to understand and describe in numbers and statistics just how enormously powerful (politically and economically) the defense industry and the military are in the US. Budget statistics can be very misleading and tricky and US GDP numbers are crap. The real US gdp is much smaller than reported and unemployment and inflation are much higher than reported.

I'm no fan of "jacobin" but this is decent....
