Kathy Clark, you are right, but what many states are doing/trying to do is to prohibit public schools, etc. from requiring masks in schools. My county (in VA) is making masks optional for students and teachers and other publicly-paid school workers. I am in a high-risk area, so if all the anti-vaxxers, hesitant folks, and people who will never accept this vaccine, opt themselves and/or their children out of wearing masks, there will be an awful lot of unmasked kids and adults in our schools.
