This was to be expected (for me at least) as it is not treating the underlying cause. Treating the underlying cause would require a move on from capitalism (and communism would not be much better unfortunately due to its focus on "women's liberation") or alternatively direct government control over capital and the political bravery to attempt new solutions. Unfortunately these are lacking.

Indeed the "solution" of maternal capital is the same as listening to a woman saying that she likes nice guys but then ends up with the chad - it is believing what she says at face value. Women frequently do not know what they want and few are self aware enough to realize it. In addition, they are confrontation avoidant, so they say what people want to hear. This leads to difficulties in assessing what they truly think about any given topic, which is why social experimentation is a necessity.
