Indian here. That's a bullshit narrative based on a poorly researched book by a dumbfuck journalist that was debunked by Indian economist Amartya Sen. The local government in Bengal was enough to manage the famine, it's not as though Churchill was remote controlling policy from the other side of the world with a little war on his hands, and he negotiated with Canada to send food *to* India.
