Thank you Joan, added this book to my list. ’ve read that the Nazi gas chambers were not a result of lack of bullets, but rather a result that many German soldiers guilty of such death pit atrocities ( more people where shot to death than gased) began to abstain from taking part, hence the gas chambers. I wonder if or why guilty Southerners never got to that point of refusal in our country? even to the point of post WW2, like Emmitt Till in the 1950s. We have as dark a past as Germany, it’s time we reckon it.
