Have to agree with you…and even though I thought Mikey did give a great performance there is something about this win after Emma Stone last year that is making me wonder if a promiscuous role is the path to an Oscar.
I hope it isn’t true but I tend to agree with your point about “promiscuous roles.” Additionally, the way actresses such as Margaret Qualley and Sydney Sweeney are branding themselves as the sort of “it” girls at the moment based on their allure rather than talent (which I would argue they are both incredibly talented) seems to reflect that trend in terms of what Hollywood values/rewards.
