I was not quite buying this hypothesis at first, thinking the rise of conspiracy theories might have something to do with the prevalence of the internet. And then you landed the blows about Tucker Carlson, who I do not follow that carefully. Wow.
I always knew Tucker seemed to be slightly off-kilter sometimes. For example, even after a lot of outrageous information about Hunter Biden had been confirmed, Tucker still regarded Hunter as one of his best friends and a pretty reliable person to network with, someone with a fair amount of influence.
I know Tucker can be entertaining, which is why he has done so well in media I suppose. But perhaps without prudent staff editing him and keeping him reined-in, things go off track a bit. I am not sure.
I still think the internet allows conspiracy theories to flow more easily, but perhaps there is something to this hypothesis.
