Each and every sentence you write is 100% true and I agree with it...but you are speaking of an ideal education with engaged and creative teachers at schools with plenty of staff, good facilities and plenty of money for teaching tools. Although I'd purely love to see our public education institutions in that kind of shape, the reality is our public education is under attack in most states and won't recover quickly.
I guess what I was trying to say was that even an excellent educational system, if we had such and it was up and running right now...isn't enough to wean the moderates and convince the registers non-voters to get off their butts and vote.
Good, factual messaging that grabs people's attention on an emotional level. The Repubs are all about 'emotional connection' messaging and they are very good at it. Dems, on the other hand, suck at getting messages out that connect with people's wants and needs. Unfortunately, too many people currently vote only with their gut and not their brain. I wish it was not so, but that's the reality.
We Dems prefer to explain things and offer facts and fact-based results rather than gin up the feelings. I'm all for reason and logic but to sway people to get passionate about democracy Dems are going to have to offer facts with feelings.
