You make some interesting points. As you might suspect, I disagree with many of them. You sound like so many of my former work cohort who do not realize that being born white and male, you start your at bat on second base, and then claim you're equal to everyone else, when white women are born on first base, Black men are born at home, and Black women aren't even to the on-deck circle yet.

Do you know that one of the best keys to personal success is intergenerational wealth? I will give you my personal example: My parents did not have wealth to pass on. When my Dad died, he left my Mom with his insurance and pension, which she lived on for almost 20 years. When she died, after closing out all of her financials, she had $450 in the bank. My younger sister does not own a home, and only 4 years ago was able to buy a decent vehicle that did not require constant maintenance. Her son, who is 35, is living with us for a determinant time while his future housemate finishes her Ph.D work in Indiana whereupon they will get housing together.

My wife's parents were better off. They loaned us money for our first house, when we moved to Eugene while my wife started grad school. After I had worked for the Sheriff's Office for several years and established my own credit, we refinanced the house, and paid them back. We bought the house we're in now 30 years ago and have built a comfortable life. My wife recently inherited nearly 100K from her Dad's estate, and our investments have done OK for us.

My wife's siblings each have two children. Her brother's kids are doing far less well than her sister's kids, mostly due to the intergenerational wealth passed on by their parents. Her brother squandered the money (easily triple that which either my wife or her sister got) from their Dad; his oldest daughter is married with a career in banking and a construction worker husband; his youngest still lives with her mother. My wife's sister went to college, learned how to fly from their Dad, and has had a fantastic career as a FedEx pilot. Her oldest daughter is a United pilot, and her youngest works in clinical research.

I don't hate you. I appreciate your vote for the Harris/Walz ticket, and the work you do in supporting their candidacy. I fundamentally disagree with your precepts on equality.
