Many years ago I applied for a job at a university for the bio-chem dept, but the top professors who interviewed me seemed a little dodgy and arrogant. I asked if they would back me up if professors made a complaint about me but I could prove I was right and they were wrong.

The answer was the professors could not be wrong. I turned down the job and later I read on a blog a long story about the guy who did get the job. He ended up with a big lawsuit and counter-suit with the professors who couldn't be wrong.
