You can learn a lot from what a president says during an address to Congress.
You can learn as much — if not more — from what a president doesn’t say.
And during President Donald Trump’s 1 hour, 40 minute address Tuesday to a joint session of Congress — an address that broke a record for long-windedness set in 2000 by then-President Bill Clinton — I was struck by what our current commander-in-chief chose not to say.
